The April drop

The world is both beautiful and extremely volatile all at the same time.

I keep coming back to the simple things. Slow down. Focus on small things you can change or create close to home. Look after yourself, for yourself. And so you can show up for others. Here’s a book, a podcast, and a framework. Things you can absorb in a cosy nook over a hot (or stiff) cup of something.

Here’s to peace x

How we think and act

Carl Jung’s The Undiscovered Self was written near the end of his life.

He talks about the tension between thinking for yourself and being shaped by what is happening in the world around you.

His perspective was complex, but also kind of simple. Change doesn’t start out there in the world. It starts with us as individuals. In how we think. And then how we choose to act.

The audiobook might be a better fit if you’d rather kick back and ponder at the same time.

The anatomy of trust

This podcast breaks trust down into small behaviours. Skip to 10 minutes in to get past all the promotion guff.

Boundaries. Being realiable. Being accountable. Being generous with our time and minds.

Small repeated stuff that help us feel more connected and able to rely on one another.

A decision-making framework: the defiance compass

The art of taking a moment and thinking things through.

When you read the word defiance, it can feel quite loaded, no? Like a rebellion, or something risky?

But maybe defiance could be framed more constructively…Perhaps ‘respectfully pushing boundaries together’ to support a better outcome?

A little something for the sympathetic nervous system
